General Secretary Xi Jinping recently issued important instructions on curbing food waste in the catering sector. He pointed out that food waste is shocking and deeply distressing. As the saying goes, “Who knows that every grain on the plate is earned through hard work?” Despite consecutive bumper harvests in China, we must remain acutely aware of the risks to food security; the impact of the global COVID‑19 pandemic this year has sounded an even louder alarm.

The Susa Party Branch has enthusiastically responded to General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on resolutely curbing food waste and earnestly cultivating habits of thrift, launching a comprehensive campaign with multiple measures. Party members have proactively carried out ongoing publicity in the staff canteen, guiding employees to develop good practices of conserving grain and striving to foster a positive atmosphere in which wasting is shameful and saving is honorable.

Party members have voluntarily formed a “Clean Plate Campaign Supervision Team” to guide diners each day in taking appropriate portions, dining courteously, and practicing food conservation, thereby curbing food waste. Meanwhile, the cafeteria is adorned with eye‑catching promotional banners such as “Cherish Every Grain,” “Clean Plate Campaign,” and “Frugality Cultivates Virtue.”

To foster a positive culture of “practicing thrift and combating food waste,” the Susa Party Branch has issued an appeal to all employees, encouraging rational consumption by ordering only what one can eat and ensuring that “the canteen serves no more, and the kitchen prepares no more,” thereby putting an end to food waste at the table. By setting a good example for family members and friends, we aim to inspire those around us to join in the effort to conserve grain.
