On the morning of August 7, the inaugural Production Systems Management Professional Skills Competition and the third SuSa Food Knowledge Contest officially kicked off, with a total of 24 managerial personnel from Jiangsu SuSa and Guangdong SuSa taking part.
This event consists of two main components: a theoretical exam and an on-site practical Q&A session. The theoretical exam comprises 100 questions and is administered over 60 minutes. Contestants are required to arrive at the examination venue 15 minutes in advance and surrender their mobile phones and any exam-related materials. Inside the examination room, candidates are all diligently working on their papers; it is clear that each participant has prepared thoroughly—some are deep in thought, while others are writing furiously, with the room maintaining orderly conditions.
Before the event began, General Manager Deng Baohua delivered an inspiring address, extending a warm welcome to our colleagues from Guangdong who had traveled far to attend. He also underscored the purpose of this initiative: to provide mid‑level and frontline managers—those who consistently dedicate themselves to their roles with diligence and humility—with an open, fair, and impartial platform to showcase their professional expertise and personal strengths. Guided by the company’s principle of “promoting the capable, giving way to the average, and demoting the mediocre,” we aim to create a space for learning and growth for ambitious individuals eager to advance and enhance their skills. Additionally, the event seeks to foster an environment of mutual exchange and knowledge sharing among the production management leaders of Jiangsu Susa and Guangdong Susa.
Currently, the company is preparing three new projects: first, Phase II of the Jiangsu Susa project; second, a mineral water project in Yancheng, Jiangsu; and third, a full‑chain development initiative for coconut‑based products in Vietnam. The successful implementation of these projects will require dozens of highly qualified production‑management professionals, and the company is committed to giving priority to today’s contestants for these positions. Accordingly, this competition serves as one of the key channels for identifying talent for our new initiatives, as well as a fast track to promotion and salary increases for all of you here. We hope that each participant will demonstrate their best performance, showcase their expertise, and achieve outstanding results—and that many more exceptional talents will emerge today!
Accompanied by a rousing march, all our contestants, filled with unwavering confidence, stepped onto the center of the stage with resolute strides, their order of appearance determined by the draw.
This competition invited six distinguished judges to conduct on-site scoring. They are: the Group’s Deputy General Manager; Ms. Deng Baohua, General Manager of Jiangsu SUSA and Guangdong SUSA; Mr. Zhao Chuangying, the Group’s Technical Director; Mr. Li Xiangyang, Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu SUSA; Mr. He Zhiqing, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong SUSA; Mr. Xie Defang, Assistant to the General Manager and Head of the Quality Assurance Department at Guangdong SUSA; and Mr. Bu Dawei, Assistant to the Equipment Director at Jiangsu SUSA. Scores were calculated by discarding one highest and one lowest score, then averaging the remaining four judges’ scores.
Contestants will compete in the order of their appearance, with a total of six multiple-choice questions to be answered within a 20-minute time limit; answering will cease when the time is up. The six questions cover a range of topics, including daily operations, emergency situations, and production processes, testing the contestants’ accumulated work experience, managerial skills, and familiarity with their respective roles.
Some contestants were utterly focused, delivering precise presentations that earned rounds of applause from both the audience and the judges; others sat deep in thought, furrowing their brows, and even when they couldn’t answer a question, they left the audience holding their breath.
On the stage, the contestants delivered passionate performances, showcasing outstanding displays and insightful answers that repeatedly sent the atmosphere into a fever pitch. Offstage, the judges and audience held their breath, marveling at the contestants’ remarkable breadth of knowledge and their deep understanding of SUSA’s corporate culture, erupting in sustained applause.
After nearly seven hours of intense competition and meticulous scoring by the judges, Zhang Huiming ultimately clinched the championship with a total score of 97.43. Zhou Haibo and Yang Jianzhen took second and third place, respectively, by narrow margins. Prizes were presented to them by General Manager Deng Baohua, Deputy General Manager Li Xiangyang, and Deputy General Manager He Zhiqing.
Finally, Deputy General Manager Li Xiangyang summarized the event: In this competition, two participants scored 90 or above, one scored between 80 and 89, nine scored between 70 and 79, ten scored between 60 and 69, and two scored below 60. Through this contest, everyone should review what they’ve learned to gain new insights, acquire essential workshop‑management knowledge, and identify their own areas of weakness. Moving forward, targeted training can address these gaps, enabling continuous self‑improvement and fostering shared growth with the company.
Culture is power; only companies with a strong culture can achieve sustainable development and progress. Only when employees embrace the company’s corporate culture, move forward in tandem with the organization, and grow together can they remain competitive and resilient. The company’s success hinges on the hard work of every employee, and world-class enterprises require exceptional leaders to guide them. The successful hosting of the SuSa Foods Management Team Professional Skills Competition marks a new milestone in the company’s efforts to cultivate and select talent.
